The leading Mexican film chain in distribution and film screening has developed for 11 years, a system of digital signage channel system to captivate, entertain and inform its guests with visual experiences in Digital Signage. Luis Cadena, Digital Advertising and Communication account executive, mentions that Cinemex challenge was making a radical change in the image to create innovative and dynamic communication that would set the difference with its competitors.

Said strategy considered the analysis of communication needs and the implementation of a comprehensive information technology solution that placed Cinemex at the forefront of digital communication worldwide.

That is how the project began in 2025 by renovating all its compounds nationwide, aimed at offering a unique experience to its customers.

The initial proposal included the integration of three channels with dynamic, engaging, and remotely updatable content. Marquee, box office and candy store. The first one presents the offer of movies to the guest, in its different schedules. As for the box office, tickets are updated depending on the category of each compound. The Candy store channel is a digital menu that is deployed in three different screens that show the different products and promos; said menu is weekly updated according to the indications from the marketing area.

Currently, the Cinemex screen network covers 52 cities in Mexico; the project covers ten channels: Marquee, box office, candy store, central coffee, Mango Network, Alavista, Synopsis, Digital Poster, Candy Cash and Videowall.

The project highlights the implementation of non-proportional video walls made of 12 ultra-thin 42” screens that in each moment becomes one single canvass showing special promos, movie trailers and special events.

As for the design and execution of this project, the Scala platform has been used, which allows the managing, updating and deployment of content. Generally speaking, the screens are 53” Panasonic and the hardware that stores contents are Zotac.

The implementation of digital communication channels has allowed Cinemex to improve communication with its audience, showing how Cinemex has revolutionized the experience of going to the movies.
